Personalised Postural Pilates and Massage Program
How would you rate your posture?
Postural problems can cause us all sorts of aches in pains as we age; continue in our sedentary or strenuous jobs; and don't take the time to maintain flexibility via stretching, physical activity and massage.
We can help you to help yourself from as little as 1 month*
After a 15-minute postural assessment, LBBT will develop a program involving two hour-long myofascial release massages (preferably in combination with a series of three Dorn Spinal Alignment treatments), two or more half-hour clinical pilates training sessions, and daily cues to improve your physical awareness and function. You can then continue to get support and training by joining our 30-minute maintenance groups (max 4 people), receive reminder SMS or practice alone with maintenance massages every six to eight weeks.
How does it work?
Everyone is different, so Lissa begins by assessing "where you are" in order to develop a plan to get to "where you want to be".
Lissa will observe your posture; assess standing and balance tests; check leg length, hip/shoulder levels, joint mobility and range of motion; identify tight/weak muscles; and assess abdominal muscle strength.
Myofascial release massage facilitates complete relaxation and resetting of the 'fascial wrapping' around all muscles and organs. Lissa will then provide one-on-one instruction in pilates using a stabiliser pressure bio-feedback device to develop your ability to detect when core muscles are "turned on". In addition you will receive stretching guidelines and a check list of daily postural queues with SMS reminders, if desired.
Small group classes will continue to provide pain relief and develop your core stability.
